On Friday, February 11, 2022, the Brookshire family suffered a sudden, tragic loss. Harold Carman Brookshire II died peacefully, of natural causes, at his home in Townsend, Tennessee. Harold was born in Asheville, NC on April 23, 1946. He was a fierce competitor on the baseball diamond and loved playing the catching position for teams at Enka High School, in the United States Air Force, and at Mars Hill University. His teammates referred to him as “Hammer” for his intensity on the field and batting prowess. After graduation, Harold began a career in accounting; he earned his Master of Business Administration Degree from Winthrop University and went on to serve as Chief Financial Officer for many successful companies in the United States and abroad.

Harold was passionate about his faith, family, and friendships. He was a caring and generous father and grandfather who worked each day to strengthen his relationships with God, his children Geoffrey and Bonnie, and the mother of their children and former wife Mary Anne. He spent his retirement years embraced by the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains and the love of his friends at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church and neighbors in the Laurel Valley Community.
Harold was preceded in death by his father, Harold Brookshire; sister, Careen Heatherly; and brother, Tommy Brookshire.
